I spent so much of my teenage years thinking I was broken, that there was something wrong me with and I needed to be fixed. Worse, in my darkest hours I felt that I was beyond fixing and I could never change.
That was a complete work of fiction I made up in my own mind and I believed it. I believed my bullies who picked on me at school. I believed all the negative talk around me and inside my own head.
The truth is some 15 years later I'm still the same guy. Whilst I have had many life experiences along the way , I am still the same person I always was. The only difference is I don't believe in so many of the self doubting thoughts I have.
That's allowed me to get over my fear of heights by learning to skydive, helped me get over my fear of being alone by living in different countries for extended periods of time and to get over my fear of being bad at my job as well.
