AFRICA IS NOT A TESTING LAB. KEEP MOTHER AFRICA SAFE!
Africa has had the lowest number of cases of Covid-19, but foreign countries, mostly European, have made agreements with different African nations to begin testing vaccines on their citizens. How does it make sense to bring in members of highly infected nations to provide a trial vaccine on members of relatively healthy nations? We’ve seen vaccines weaponized in Africa and on Black people in America before. Did these institutions of power and companies willing to profit off of death all of a sudden change when we weren’t looking? Are the colonial powers now morally upstanding philanthropists looking to do good? If you’ve been lied to and abused by someone, they’ve gotta do a lot of work to try to regain your trust, and they may never get it back. So, what have France, the U.K., the U.S., and other imperial and colonial forces done to gain enough trust to begin “testing” some drug on African people. We know how racist white people are towards us wherever we live. We know the way they dehumanize us and treat us like our lives don’t matter. So, what’s to stop them from using Black Africans to test some vaccines that aren’t ready for testing on humans? Are white people willing to sacrifice and endanger Black lives to save white lives? We’re gonna let you answer that. What’s to stop them from intentionally poisoning us with the vaccines. Do we have oversight of the production of the vaccines? Do we have some form of quality control to ensure these will not harm us? Africa is not your laboratory.
