Will I keep my gains if the gym closes??? Body weight stuff will be much more effective at maintaining strength and size than not doing anything. That's for sure. Will it allow you to have the same lifts and size before and after? Probably not. But there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try and maintain what you’ve built. You can pretty easily use a backpack filled with water bottles for most of your leg workout ie squats and lunge variations, use whatever you can for upper body workout ie logs, rocks, kids, tins (your wife lol). If you have a sturdy tree around you can do chins. Cable Side Raise Start by standing to the side of a low pulley row. Use your hand to come across the body and grab a single handle attached to the low pulley with a pronated grip (palms facing down). Rest your arm in front of you. This is the starting position. Begin to use the hand and come across your body out until it is elevated to shoulder height while exhaling. Feel the contraction throughout the movement and squeeze hard at the top for a second and begin to slowly lower the handle back down to the original starting position while inhaling. As a certified sports nutritionist (MRNT) I'm often asked what sups I take to help me train...well here are my top five... 1- Protein 2- BCAA's 3- Creatine 4- Glutamine 5- EFA's I take whey protein isolate after training and casein protein every night before bed for MPS. . . Muscle protein synthesis is the process of building muscle mass. Protein is the main building block of your muscle. Think of a muscle as a wall. Each brick is a protein. A bodybuilding split separates training days by body part. As I said in my last post I train my Rear Delts on Back day, because I think I was over training them. Firstly, understand that the Rear delts are highly engaged in multi-joint back exercises as you pull your elbows behind the plane of your body. Muscle stimulation on the rear Delts isn’t nearly as great on multi-joint exercises for the shoulders, i.e Presses. Given the rear delts may not be getting much activation via multi-joint movements for the shoulders but rather those done on back day, wouldn’t it make more sense to train them with Back? If you’re already doing Rear Delt isolation exercises like reverse pec-deck flyes and bent-over lateral raises with your shoulder training, realize that you’re also hitting them again with back.
